Austin Film Festival
Was this past week, so Karen and I went to two films. They were both really great so i wanted to share the info for anyone interested.
1) Cummings Farm
This was a locally produced movie, written and stared in by local musician Black Nasty, who is not black. Its an absolutely hilarious movie and well made to boot. Its about three couples who decide to have an orgy, but no one really wants to go through with it. Anyways its full of hilariously awkward moments and creepy humor. google it!
2) D-Tour
This is a documentary about Pat Spurgeon and his band Rogue Wave, whom he plays drums for. So the movie chronicles about 2 years of his life while he is on dialysis waiting for a kidney transplant, how he does dialysis in the van while on tour or backstage at some gross rock club and so fourth, trying to find a kidney and all sorts of stuff. So its half rockumentary and half medical documentary. Really awesome! tons of cameos by people like John Vanderslice, ben gibbard, nada surf ect..
Jim Eno from Spoon! was sitting one row in front of Karen and I at this one.
Anyways, i really enjoyed both of these films and you should check them out!
